I have NO IDEA how to contact you other than here. Can you please assist? The added link is NOT an ad for something, it's a very informative article in regards to the topics page.

Thank you for the reply. The linked web page is to a well respected article about Second-Impact Syndrome. What do you need to understand it's factual content? It is the ONLY published article directly related and easy to find about this happening in contact sports, more so, full contact fight sports. Thank you, awaiting your reply.

The linked website has no direct relation to the article subject, and does not provide any valuable contribution to the article. There is no reason that your article out of many articles about second-impact syndrome should be included. See WP:ELNO. Dylsss (talk) 22:26, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

SERIOUSLY? the article linked is ABOUT second-impact syndrome! Did you not even read it? http://www.ikfkickboxing.com/SecondImpactSyndrome.htm

The article is about second-impact syndrome but the website appears to be operated by a kickboxing organization, which does not directly relate to second-impact syndrome. The external links section is not for references, it is for websites directly relating to the subject, e.g. an offical website, archived offical websites, statistics (about a company). In the second-impact syndrome wiki page you actually put it in the "see also" section, which is not even for external links, it's for relating Wikipedia articles. OK, Fair enough Dylsss. The article is ALL about Second-Impact Syndrome and goes into pretty vast detail as to how it relates to full contact fight sports as well as other contact sports. Is it possible to place the link anywhere else on the page? I was not trying to give the kickboxing site press. The IKF is a regulatory and sanctioning body for kickboxing and muay thai and has a strong reputation for fighter safety. The article was created to help those in these sports realize that such injuries don't just happen in the moment. The sad effects (death) are caused long before that final incident or blow. May I ask if there is anywhere the article can be posted to help assist athletes in taking care of themselves even in training and stop thinking, "well if I don't get hit too hard in the fight, or game, I should be ok." Instead, they need to be aware of what happens to them in previous bouts or games as well as in practice or training for them. ANY help you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. - Is this a better link for thearticle: http://www.ifightsports.com/SecondImpactSyndrome.htm

No, both linked articles are tertiary and cites Wikipedia, it would not be considered a WP:RELIABLE source and shouldn't be used as a reference. If there is a specific piece of the linked article(s) that would benefit the second-impact syndrome Wikipedia page, then you can add it citing a reliable source. Dylsss (talk) 01:32, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I thought it all basically added to, or benefited the second-impact syndrome Wikipedia page cause it discusses quite a few areas the Wikipedia page does not address. Still, it's your page, so it's your rules. Sorry we don't see the same benefits of the article for the page. I sincerely am. So, I guess I will just ask you since no matter what I say, it's your call. Do you see any way it can be added as citing a reliable source? Thank you again... To add, so that we are not upsetting anyone there, we will also remove the reference to Wikipedia.org note on all of the pages.

No. There's also nothing wrong with having the Wikipedia reference, it just makes the source more unreliable. It's not my page, no one owns pages on Wikipedia, anyone can edit, I just patrol recent changes and revert vandalism or edits against guidelines. I'd also add that this seems like a WP:COI issue, specifically WP:SELFCITE, citing your own self-published sources multiple times can be considered as spamming. Information icon Hello, I'm Dylsss. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Second-impact syndrome have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links.
