[edit]Hello, I'm Wikipelli. I noticed that in this edit to List of Baltimore Orioles owners and executives, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Wikipelli Talk 00:16, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
A question
[edit]El C, I was editing using this IP while in transit. What could possibly have been the WP:BLP violation? My brief edit history here shows that I was trying to deal with a nest of socks. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 05:44, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
- Specifically, these were my edits of a few days ago: [1]; [2]; [3]; [4]; [5]; [6]. For what it's worth, after I opened a COI report, two accounts were blocked who had been editing at Sidemen. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 05:50, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
- I don't know about any of that. It is the last edit here. El_C 05:52, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
- That's weird; this is all that shows up for my edit history [7]. Okay, it's a public IP, used on the train, but I've never seen two such different histories. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 05:56, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
- Unless you range blocked. But beyond that my technical understanding is nil. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 06:00, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, I rangeblocked.
But things are still not adding up. I've asked an expert — perhaps he can clear this confusion up.El_C 06:01, 12 January 2020 (UTC)- Much appreciated; Tony knows me. It's not a big deal to me, since I don't anticipate using this IP very much, if at all. But it puzzled me. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 06:04, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
- Nevermind, I misread the contributions. Yes, I always range block the /64 (per User:TonyBallioni/Just block the /64). There are issues with that maybe once every 100 blocks, though. El_C 06:05, 12 January 2020 (UTC)

Would you like me to still brings this up to Tony's attention? Because I removed the thread from his user talk page, but I can leave him a note with a link to this talk page, if you wish. El_C 06:08, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
- Not an imperative--the strongest rationale from my point of view would just be to say hello to him. But I appreciate the rationale for a block now, especially if the edit to Bill Keenan was bad enough to rev/delete. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 06:10, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
- By all means, IP, feel free to ping him, even if only to say hello. Sorry for taking away your train editing. I wish I knew away to unblock just your end of the range. I'm not sure that's even possible. El_C 06:15, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
- Maybe I will, but the block has been minimally invasive. When I'm going in and out of New York I ought to be sleeping or writing articles, rather than checking Wiki histories. Cheers, 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 06:17, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
- Glad to hear it. Fair enough. Safe journey. El_C 06:19, 12 January 2020 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
