November 2022[edit]

Hello, I'm PlanetJuice. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Daniel J. Quirk, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. PlanetJuice (talkcontribs) 22:50, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
@PlanetJuice I would be happy to cite it as a personal discussion which happened in meetings with dates. Will that suffice? 2603:7080:F638:1EB6:3C23:E3C9:8438:1DF5 (talk) 01:27, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply. A personal discussion would not serve as appropriate sourcing here. Per our Biographies of living persons policy, which explains the sourcing requirements for those articles, [a]ll quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be supported by an inline citation to a reliable, published source. Personal discussions are not published sources and are not secondary sources, which are generally preferred for claims such as the one you added. If a personal discussion is the only source of this information, the claim regarding Quirk is not verifiable and would be considered original research, which is not permitted on Wikipedia. Please let me know if you have any other questions. PlanetJuice (talkcontribs) 02:02, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
