Hello, I'm Hey man im josh. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to British Museum seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Hey man im josh (talk) 11:35, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @Hey man im josh: thank you for engaging with me on this issue. I decided to change the term taken to stolen after I applied WP:DUCK to the actions of the British at the time. The British took these objects by force and without the consent of their rightful owners. That in my mind meets the definition of theft. And, per the duck test if something unequivocally exhibits the characteristics of a particular object or action then it’s safe to say that it is that object or action. If you think terms like stolen or purloined are too loaded for WP then could we perhaps use a softer term like ‘taken without the owner’s consent’?2A00:23C7:829E:7E01:BC16:CB7B:9B99:B56D (talk) 11:49, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
