Film nationality[edit]

Hi. I happened to notice the deleted thread on your user talk page and thought you might still want an answer to your question. The relevant guideline is MOS:FILMCOUNTRY, which says "If the film's nationality is singularly defined by reliable sources (e.g., being called an American film), identify it in the opening sentence. If the nationality is not singular, cover the different national interests later in the lead section." Specifically removing the designation "American" as being unnecessary, as if all notable films were American productions, is generally considered a form of regional bias, though I hasten to add that Materialscientist definitely should not have hit you with a vandalism template.
