- Hello, the edits I made were to align the article with the company's 10-K which is their official public record for their history. The current version of the article is self-promotion for an early employee, incorectly stating him as a co-founder. The article is biased and inaccurate as compared to the company's public filing. 432cgb (talk) 15:07, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, 432cgb. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Bridge Investment Group, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Imcdc Contact 15:06, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, I understand. How can I suggest changes for the article to be factually correct? How do I then get those changes approved to be permanent? Thank you for your help here! 432cgb (talk) 15:55, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
- If you are affiliated with Bridge Investment Group, you must first disclose it. Refer to WP:COIE, WP:DISCLOSE and WP:COIREQ. They will also tell you how to make a request for changes. Once the request is made on the talk page, an experienced editor will see if the changes can be made. It is expected sufficient independent sources or references are provided. 10-Ks are considered primary sources from the company itself and therefore can only be relied to a certain extent. - Edit: I have reviewed the reference of the interview with Paul Hutchison and determined it does not pass WP:RS so content relating to it has been removed. Any further edits will require going through proper procedures. Imcdc Contact 10:53, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
