Wikipedia is not a reliable source

[edit]

Please do not cite Wikipedia, like you did in this edit. TheGreatestLuvofAll (talk) 11:55, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Don't be so picky. I added a new piece of information. If it's about a syntax, than please fix it as you want. I'm less familiar with it. It's semantic for me. Please concentrate on the main thing, not on a marginal thing. It'd be pity for others to miss (prevent them) a piece of interesting information just because of ego problem. As for saying "Wikipedia isn't a reliable source", I saw many details in Wikipedia that didn't have source, that's what Wikipedia is about, for people to contribute from their knowledge. Other than that, I'm an Israeli, so I know for first source about it, do you need a professor or a journalist or a notary that will be a guarantor for this information? I hope and expect you to show understanding and use reasonable judgment instead of lurking around the corner for people such as me, who want to contribute their knowledge. For the last time (as I'm not going to put this again and waste my time), this is the information that should be there with its reference:
...that many Israelis[1] and Americans...

You clearly triggered this automated edit filter by doing this and the filter you triggered was "citing Wikipedia". Wikipedia itself is not good for sourcing. The top of the WP:CW says

"In many academic institutions, references to Wikipedia are unacceptable for research papers. See also: Reliability of Wikipedia."

So it means Wikipedia is unacceptable to cite as a reference, and you have to use references that are outside of Wikipedia. TheGreatestLuvofAll (talk) 13:03, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
