Michael Milken

[edit]

Hey there. It would really be great if you could discuss the edits you're making to Michael Milken. For example, I don't believe that he was in philanthropy for "three decades." What is the basis for that? --JohnnyB256 (talk) 18:30, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please be sure to sign your talk page comments, using the box on top of each page, ten places over from the left. You get two hyphens and then four squiggly lines, like this:--~~~~--JohnnyB256 (talk) 18:25, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure how to make comments when I make a change. Is this the forum to do so?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 50withaBullet (talkcontribs)

You've participated in talk page discussions in the Milken article in the past, and that is where I would encourage you to continue posting, rather than reverting and edit warring as you have been doing. --JohnnyB256 (talk) 18:44, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I'm getting a bit tired of your not complying with simple instructions and requests, such as refusing to sign comments. I realize that sugarcoating Michael Milken is your one and only interest in Wikipedia, but you should make some slight effort to abide by the rules.--JohnnyB256 (talk) 18:46, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please be mindful of WP:PEACOCK and WP:LEAD in your edits to Michael Milken. He is notable for his Wall Street activities and his crimes, not his philanthropy. While his philanthropy should definitely be mentioned in the lead section, your edit here[1] goes into excessive detail. When you were correctly reverted on that by another editor, you reinstated the improper detail[2]. I then reinstated the neutral, summary, language, and then came this edit by you[3], in which you re-inserted a sentence saying: "Milken has also devoted much time and money to charity over the past three decades." "Devoted much time and money" is not neutral language, and as I pointed out previously in the discussion page, his philanthropy commenced in 1982, not "three decades ago."

I must again ask you to please refrain from these kind of edits. Thank you for listening.--JohnnyB256 (talk) 16:41, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, I feel like I'm writing on the wall of a vacant house.

Your most recent edit to Michael Milken was correctly reverted by another editor. Please feel free to go to the article talk page to discuss this, if you feel the removed text belongs in the article. While we want to uphold WP:BLP and create a fair article about Milken, it was felt that the material you added did not contribute to that. Remember also to sign your talk page contributions by putting --~~~~ at the end of your comments. Thanks, --JohnnyB256 (talk) 16:27, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've reverted an edit which you performed on Michael Milken regarding the Gordon Gekko character. If you have concerns, please make them known on the Talk page. I'd like to ensure that we uphold WP:BLP, so please voice any concerns you have. --Benefros (talk) 06:40, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
