Populations[edit]
Many thanks for your edits concerning populations such as this edit to Sparks, Nevada. However, you need to provide a reliable source for this edit. Some editors such as Shahar9261 have been recently adding the 2020 population without providing the source and editors like SounderBruce have reverted some of them with edit summaries like "Uncited; please wait for a full dataset before updating". I'll repeat what I suggested to Shahar9261:
In particular, it would be good to update the footnote field with the location of the information that you used for the update of the population. I'm not that familiar with Template:US Census population, but the template page says "As of April 2021, the template should be used with either 2020= or estimate=, but not both." So, if the US Census is giving the 2020 population, perhaps estref should be removed and footnote updated? I'd be grateful if you would go back and update the estref and footnote fields in all the population changes that you have made. Thanks! Cxbrx (talk) 22:59, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
