Content removal

[edit]

Why are you removing details of the Pattersons from List of former Home and Away characters? You have given no reason for repeatedly removing Cooper Scott, the first actor to hold the role on his own, from the list of actors who played VJ Patterson. And while you gave a reason for removing Vinnie's 2004 appearance played by an uncredited actor, it doesn't really make sense. You said it's not mentioned on his Wikipedia article, yet a clear look at the character's fictional history shows that, yes, it is mentioned. And you obviously know it happened, so why remove it? There wasn't any source I could find backing this up so I thought he should be put in the "various" child actors category. I genuinely believed that Felix Dean was the first character who as you said "held the role on his own" not Scott. I did search for a source for Scott but was unable to find one. Also Vinnie's character page has his last appearance on the show as "1 March 2002", which was Ryan Kwanten's last appearance as Vinnie. It does not count his "Uncredited" November 2004 appearance wearing a bear costume for his son's third birthday concealing his identity. I was trying to foster a sense of continuity and consistency between the Wikipedia pages. The "Uncredited actor" bit was also unsourced. So one page was saying one thing and another page was saying another and I was trying to rectify that. And somebody kept putting Cooper Scott's name back as "Cooper Scptt" so there was a typing error there as well. I hope that clears things up.51.7.250.114 (talk) 13:05, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'll acknowledge it's hard to find a source for Cooper Scott, but given that other child actors, like the ones for Duncan and Martha, are included, I think he should be as well. As for Vinnie, like I say, a quick look at his storylines says "On the day of VJ's 3rd birthday party, a stranger in a bear costume arrives and entertains the children throughout the day. When he leaves, Leah learns that it was Vinnie in disguise and finds a letter from him, telling her to move on with her life." So, basically his Wikipedia page isn't even consistent with itself, and the correct thing to do would be to change his last appearance to 19 November 2004, rather than removing the information from another page. I accept it can be hard to find sources but I don't see that as any reason to just remove them from the list. Probably citing the episode(s) would do at a pinch. OK. I will do that frown now on. I'm terribly sorry for the misunderstanding. The Vinnie page did use to record his last appearance as that date but it must have been changed back since. I agree the different pages do look inconsistent. Also, shouldn't all of the child actors who played VJ before Scott also be mentioned as well? I know there are a lot of them but still. Also I couldn't find sources for Jane Hall playing Rebecca Fisher/Nash and Matt Juarez playing Nick Smith. I did try but was unsuccessful.51.7.250.114 (talk) 13:31, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've followed my own advice, edited Vinnie's page and restored the other page with episode citations: Hopefully no-one will object! Whilst it would be nice to have all the VJs down there, modern New South Wales child labour laws means there's just too many of them: I think they're all listed on the character page, that'll have to do. I'm surprised there's no source around for Jane Hall given how prominent she's been post-HA, I'll have to look around some time.Skteosk (talk) 09:01, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. She was in Neighbours playing another Rebecca: Rebecca Napier/Robinson. There is a picture of her in the role on the Rebecca Fisher/ Nash page. Surely, as you say, there must be one existing somewhere.51.7.250.114 (talk) 10:31, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
