Hello, I'm Jamesx12345. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions, such as the one you made with this edit to Inrush current, because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jamesx12345 (talk) 21:41, 15 July 2013 (UTC)

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to LED lamp. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Even if the article had already had well-referenced info about inrush current, we would reject this link as the linked page primarily exists to advertise a specific product. If the linked page had documented the issue and that particular solution (thermistors) without mentioning a product, but rather by linking to e.g. academic papers or even articles in trade journals, that would have been different. As it is it is both self-published and much too sales-y. Jeh (talk) 22:47, 16 May 2018 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
- p.s. The above also applies to the links you added to Swimming pool sanitation, Salt water chlorination, Wheatstone bridge, DC-to-DC converter, Inrush current, Filter capacitor, Capacitor, Temperature coefficient, Thermistor, Steinhart–Hart equation, Inrush current limiter, and of course Inrush current. It does not appear that you are here to build an encyclopedia, rather to drop links to pages at Ametherm.com 's blog at every opportunity. See also WP:COI. Jeh (talk) 23:00, 16 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for this information. I will let my organization know that our articles, even though informational, are too promotional for reference on Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.138.11.78 (talk • contribs)

This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
