I'm bored. Waiting for a buddy to pick me up for breakfast. I've completed the three "Ss"......shit, shower, shave!!! I'm just randomly typing whatever comes into my mind...... I'm all over the place. Let me try to "reel" this back in? I'm 66 years old, very immature (or so I am told), 6'-1", 215 lbs, reasonably fit. I was active in sports during my school years.

I then pursued my dream of playing lead guitar in a blues act. Also, tried "studio" work at Hemphill Sound. Session guy pretty much all my career. I DID fill in whenever an act came through town and needed a "guitarist". The would touch base with the Studio (Neil Hemphill), and he would recommend me. I worked with Natalie Cole, The Spinners, The Drifters, Mylon LeFebre, plus a multitude of other acts. That started in the 70s. Lasted till my retirement.

I have 2 siblings, a brother "Chip", and a sister "Lora". My parents are no longer living...... My father "Charles Edwards McMickens" passed on June 15, 2007. My mother Louisa Jacquline McMickens passed December 22, 2018.

My brother and sister are married. The have their respective careers. Chip has two sons, William (Will) and Benjamin (Ben). Lora has only one son (Steven). Chip, Lora and Randy (Husband) all graduated from USC (University of South Carolina). They attended as a "pack", taking the same courses when possible. Consequently, they all graduated simultaneously. Lora graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA. She has worked as the Director of Human Resources for several companies in the Columbia area including Select Comfort and She has done quite well for herself. Randy, her husband, is an executive vice president at HUD. Chip works at Edens & Avant as a trainer. He too has done quite well for himself. I, on the other hand am the "black sheep" of the family. Being 8 and 6 years older respectively (Lora and Chip), I was raised differently.

My grades were good until I hit puberty and started playing guitar. I would stay in my room playing along with albums (Hendrix, Mountain, Alvin Lee, BB King, etc). While I was jamming, the phone would ring. It was usually my friends trying to persuade me to put down the guitar and spend some time with them!! Come out of my room and enjoy LIFE!! Occasionally, I'd take them up on their offer, but most often I'd make up some excuse as to why I couldn't.

My next door neighbor was Edmund Griffin. He was a bit older than me, and was really into cars. He was always disassembling something. Edmund was also into music!! Rock MUSIC!!
