User talk:

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. For one thing, if you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome! Please stop inserting links such as in various Wikipedia articles. See our rules, e.g. WP:EL, and discuss your changes on the article talk (discussion) pages when they are reverted by other editors. Thanks. Avb 16:45, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your response on my talk page. Yes, I thought you were the editor who had originally inserted those links, sorry about that. It may be possible to reach a consensus with other editors on these articles' talk pages; so far it looks like there are two editors in favor of using these links and two against. But I should add that, generally speaking, sites like are not very likely to remain listed as external links even if we would agree to insert them now. Avb 17:48, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
