Data of Jocelyn Bell (www.nobelprize.org/nomination/archive/show_people.php?id=15505) and her nomination (www.nobelprize.org/nomination/archive/show.php?id=20866) had been hidden at the Nomination Archive site according to §8 of the statutes governing the Nobel archives of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences some time ago because Bell was alive at the moment of publication of 1970 year Nomination data. The data of some Nobel Laureates (e.g. Yang, Lee, Cooper, Josephson, Esaki, Giaever) and Nominees (e.g. Goldstone, Ohnuki, Turner) have been hidden at the Nomination Archive site due to same reason recently. - Can you site sources that clearly states that Jocelyn Bell and many others were nominated but removed from the Nobel archives? If there are none aside from those unsourced statements you provide, please have her name then be removed in both wiki articles related to the Nobel Prize. 81.145.154.18 (talk) 21:45, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- "removed from the Nobel archives" - these data have not been removed from the Nobel archives but they are now HIDDEN there. I saw the pages devoted to Jocelyn Bell and her nomination (correspondingly www.nobelprize.org/nomination/archive/show_people.php?id=15505
- & www.nobelprize.org/nomination/archive/show.php?id=20866) by my own eyes but now these pages are shown with words "No such person" (for personal data) or empty (for nominations).
- This case is not unique - data about a few Nobel Laureates and Nominees (see some examples in my first message to you) have been hidden at the Nobel archives site nearly week or two ago.
- You could for example compare the pages
- www.nobelprize.org/nomination/archive/show.php?id=20230
- which always contains
- "Year:
- Number: - "
- and
- www.nobelprize.org/nomination/archive/show.php?id=20252
- which is empty (!) now
- but there was such content (now HIDDEN but not deleted)
- about three Nobel Laureates at this page recently:
- "Physics Year: 1968
- Number: 113 - 0
- Nominee 1:
- Name: Leo Esaki
- Gender: M
- Year, Birth: 1925
- City: Yorktown Heights
- State: NY
- Country: UNITED STATES (US)
- Nominee 2:
- Name: I Giaever
- City: Schenectady
- State: NY
- Country: UNITED STATES (US)
- Nominee 3:
- Name: Brian David Josephson
- Gender: M
- Year, Birth: 1940
- City: Cambridge
- Country: UNITED KINGDOM (GB)
- Nominator:
- Name: John Bardeen
- Gender: M
- Year, Birth: 1908
- Year, Death: 1991
- City: Urbana
- State: IL
- Country: UNITED STATES (US)
- Comments: The prize to be shared between L. Esaki, I. Giaever and/or B.D. Josephson." SYuV (talk) 18:16, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
- Since the data was taken down (or "removed" as you put it) by the website, J. Bell's name should not appear in any of the wiki articles related to Nobel nominations unless it is republished again. 81.145.154.18 (talk) 21:58, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- I can't be agreed because if anyone would decide to exclude J. Bell's name for this reason then it will be need to exclude a few names of another nominees and even laureates too (some examples are in my previous messages to you). SYuV (talk) 07:02, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
