I think the article on contrast-loss is somewhat misleading as it suggests that contrast-loss is somehow a problem. This is not true in general. If instances are outcomes of multiple generative processes (which is true for most problems), contrast-loss is a benefit, not a curse. Although there have been many proves (using different assumptions) that contrast-loss can be circumvented, the papers that I am referencing are (to my knowledge) the only ones that use the same underlying constraints as contrast-loss and show it to be a benefit.
I am new to Wikipedia and I am not sure about the editing protocol. Would appreciate if you guide me to show what I should do.
