Per WP:PLURALPT given that even in the plural form the audible acoustic waves is usually written without the "s" it seems that its most appropriate to redirect to the DAB similar to the Orange/Oranges example. Compare "lots of dogs" and "lots of dog" with "lots of sound" and "lots of sounds". However if you want me to fix the mainspace links first before changing the target I can (although DABsolvers can do that easier) otherwise I can use RFD. - I think if you feel the redirect should be changed you should open it up to discussion to see what other editors think, not just make the change unilaterally. It would be a good idea to look at the incoming links, see who set them up, and engage those editors in discussion if they are still active. To me, it seems perfectly natural and logical for Sounds to redirect to Sound as a simple plural-to-singular equivalent. --92.40.6.225 (talk) 21:56, 29 November 2019 (UTC)
- Probably many different editors made the links which happens all the time. I don't think its practical to discuss with every one of them but RFD is more appropriate. Yes indeed its natural and logical for the plural to redirect to the singular but per WP:PLURALPT that doesn't necessarily apply when the primary topic isn't written with an "s" to be plural. "Sounds" listed at Redirects for discussion
[edit]An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Sounds. Since you had some involvement with the Sounds redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you wish to do so. Crouch, Swale (talk) 22:15, 29 November 2019 (UTC)
