March 2020[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
IP, the caption is not describing the parties to the conflict, which the text accurately describes as being "FR Yugoslav Army" (not Serbia, which was itself a region of FRY, not a sovereign state in April 1999). The caption is simply locating the picture for an uninitiated readership. Pincrete (talk) 23:42, 28 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You are right, the caption is describing two countries and the place which is on the border of those two countries. Mentioning two sovereign states helps readers understand what are they reading. Also, Serbia was not a region within Yugoslavia but a republic with it's own president, prime minister, ministers and government.
Also do not change the names of White Drin and Qafë Morinë based on the names of their respective articles. Ktrimi991 (talk) 10:52, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Both names are valid.
(edit conflict)
No they are not, Serbia was a constituent republic of FRY. Wales is a country, but it is not a sovereign state (does not have its own Army, seat at UN, embassies around the world etc). The only possible justification is NOT to inform the average eng-speaking reader of WHERE this incident occurred - but simply to make a PoV point about present status. Frankly, it is no better than a dog leaving its scent! It repels the average reader and does nothing to advance the very cause you probably believe in. Pincrete (talk) 12:08, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
First you claimed Serbia was a region, now you say republic. I guess you would not change your opinion if I haven't told you thus I taught you something new just like any new reader of this article will learn something new. That would mean your fear of repelling the users is invalid. The only possible justification is to inform the average English speaking reader of WHERE this incident occurred - and that is on the border between Serbia and Albania. I don't know why are you grouping dogs, scents and users of Wiki together. That is disgusting, repulsive and insulting.
'Region' and 'Republic' are not mutually exclusive - and of course, I already knew that Yugoslavia (in its various forms), had a 'federal' structure and was composed of semi-autonomous national republics. You are determined it seems to get yourself banned! You are reverting a version which avoids naming either 'FRY' or 'Serbia' or 'Kosovo', even though the 'Kosovo' article gives quite a lot of info on the history of the status argument of that province/semi-recognised state. Pincrete (talk) 13:25, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And you make lot of false assumptions, threats and insults. I reverted back to version that mentions Serbia because it is accurate. Region and republic are exclusive. If you are mentioning border, you should also say which border and between which countries.
This edit violates the three revert rule. Would you like to undo it yourself to avoid sanctions? —C.Fred (talk) 14:40, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I won't because it is factually correct.

Further more because I was blocked by @Berean Hunter: I could not give my answer on the page "Edit warring" to @Pincrete: which is down below

"Completely untrue. All this time you were fine with description saying "border between Albania and Kosovo", you even reverted back to that version several times. Here's one example [1]. Your proposition to remove names of the countries that border each other is dishonest especially now when I added Serbia as legitimate and legal neighbour instead of the region Kosovo. It is not a political point, it is a factual point that Serbia borders with Albania, while your addition of "border" between Albania and Kosovo is actually political point and a PoV as you call it. Also, it is not pointless as it informs readers where the place is located - on the border between Serbia and Albania."

I would also like to know why other user who broke rules on the page in question isn't blocked. Examples: [2] [3] [4]

The discussion here is about your conduct, not theirs. You were offered the opportunity to self-revert. You refused. You are therefore blocked to prevent further disruption, since you've demonstrated intent to edit war in violation of policy. —C.Fred (talk) 17:03, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't talking to you or asked for explanation from you.
