November 2010[edit]

Information.svg Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did with this edit to Gary James, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. — SpikeToronto 07:38, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

sorry but i TOTALLY disagree. Look in the credits on EVERY album Thunder made, even the early ones he was known as Gary 'Harry' James and I insist I am right. This is why people get fed up with Wikipedia because whenever you put something in. up pops puff the magic moderator to cite rule 76 subsection b clause 55 about why you shouldn't. This is unacceptable.
All you have to do is find a single source that says what you are inserting is correct (e.g., Rolling Stone, Weatherfield Gazette, etc.) and no one will be able to revert your edit. Wikipedia has as its primary policy that what we enter must be verifiable (see WP:Verifiability). Therefore, anything we add must have verifiable reference(s)/citation(s). The citations we add must come from reliable sources (see WP:Reliable sources). This is the only reason your addition was reverted: it lacked a citation. Also, when one looks up various albums at, he is credited as Gary James. Thanks! — SpikeToronto 07:51, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
Then I disagree that is a reliable source, as the simple fact of the matter is he is credited as 'Harry' on every album, the only ones that have his given name of 'Gary' are the first two and EVEN THEN he is down as 'Gary 'Harry' James'. I could scan the CD inserts and you'd still revert it because it doesn't 'follow the procedure'. You're reverting my correct changes based on a 'verification' that is plain wrong. Like I say - unacceptable.
But, you can cite the album cover! It’s a reliable source. But, it may be that the UK issues had him differently than the North American issues. So, perhaps it is best to enter his name like this:[[Gary James|Gary "Harry" James]]. Thanks! — SpikeToronto 07:58, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

nah bugger it... you've basically told me to scan in every CD insert to prove my point because the mighty says otherwise. I might do that when I feel like it but until then know that is wrong and by definition so is this page.

BTW if anyone's thinking of reverting the article on Harry himself here's some verification - provided the band's own website is good enough for wikipedia [/sarcasm]
