Your recent edits[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (Insert-signature.png or Button sig.png) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 15:38, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia![edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions, such as the one you made to Vani Hari. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

You are welcome to continue editing without logging in, but you may want to consider creating an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits such as the ability to create articles. For a full outline and explanation of the benefits that come with creating an account, please see this page. If you edit without a username, your IP address (98.196.234.202) is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on this page. Again, welcome! – S. August 2014[edit]

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring, as you did at Vani Hari. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.  Chillum 20:17, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Note to reviewing admin: This IP was warned, but the warnings were removed from the page. Chillum 20:18, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Requesting unblock[edit]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Request reason:

I would like to request an unblock, as I was not edit warring; I was engaging in constructive debate and attempting to find compromise positions.

Accept reason:

Already unblocked by the blocking admin. Huon (talk) 22:41, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

To the reviewing admin, please see Wikipedia:ANI#Block_by_Dreadstar_in_need_of_review. - Cwobeel (talk) 20:58, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

Yes, Cwobeel, I totally understand that this was a retaliatory block for my listing Dreadstar as per another person's suggestion. On the other hand, that would be rude of me to put in the request, but since you are being so rude and uncivil as to try to tar and feather me with false accusations, I guess I should speak up on my own behalf.
I don't have the faintest idea of what you are talking about. I have not interacted with you ever, unless you are a Wikipedia user that is posting while logged out. - Cwobeel (talk) 16:07, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
If that is the case, please see WP:SOCK. If that is not the case, please explain your comment about me being "rude and uncivil". Thanks. - Cwobeel (talk) 16:52, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
Two indents above you tried to tar and feather me by pointing to a discussion containing false allegations about me. That was both rude and incivil of you. I see no need to explain any further. 98.196.234.202 (talk) 23:32, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
You have not answered the relevant question. Have you or have you not edited Wikipedia under a user name? I find it quite puzzling that you come out of the blue to contest a block for another user. - Cwobeel (talk) 00:37, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
WRT the Vani Hari edits, the last one by IP was here. Seems that effort was made to add something different, and not a revert attempting to insert the same, problematic blog material. While IP thinks I've been uncivil and pedantic, I will support the request for unblocking. (At the same time, I feel sympathy for Dreadstar. Seems no good deed goes unpunished.) – S. Rich (talk) 21:03, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
With regard to that edit I went seeking help and found the IRC channel wikipedia-en-help where I was working with a user named Huon who helped me to try to figure out the things that Srich32977 was refusing to give details on. It was Huon who suggested that that source would work better for the article, and my edit was as indicated in the comment made after discussions. I have not at any time intended to "edit war" and reject the characterization of my edits as such.
  • IP violated WP:3RR, committing four reverts well within a 24 hour time: [1][2][3][4], with the 4th revert after being warned [5]. Anon obviously knows a lot about Edit Warring and Blocking, since they reported me to AN/I for another, unrelated issue. Also of coincidence was the fact I noticed this IP edit warring on Vani Hari since I already had it on my watchlist. Sheer coincidence from my side. Dreadstar 21:19, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
I made a large amount of work on the criticism part, you cannot claim that is a "revert." The 4th changed the wording from the Schaffer quote when Srich32977 FINALLY gave a specific thing he objected to that I could work to change and is not a "revert" either. I reject your characterization and your rude tone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.196.234.202 (talkcontribs)
Your first edit added back the "Microwave ovens" section which was removed here. So, yes, the first edit you made to the article is a revert, and you continued to edit war with the other edits above. The 4th revert is a clear and undeniable revert of the edit immediately preceding it. Dreadstar 21:45, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

Hari talk page comments[edit]

I'm sorry that you find my comments frustrating. May I suggest we focus on the content of the article rather than on reactions to the talk page comments. Also, I suggest looking at Talk page guidelines for more information on how talk pages work. Thanks. – S. Rich (talk) 04:00, 22 August 2014 (UTC)

Would you please, please, please sign the comments when you post them. We need the signatures to see where one editor's comment ends and another editor comment begins. Sometimes a "bot" will come by to add the signature, but that does not always happen. In your most recent comment, the bot did not find the unsigned post. So when I wanted to comment, I had to add the unsigned template. Not a big problem, but your cooperation would be appreciated. Thank you. S. Rich (talk) 17:05, 22 August 2014 (UTC)

Comment and request[edit]

Thank you for taking the care to sign your comments. At the same time, I ask you to stop characterizing comments from other editors as uncivil. Thank you. – S. Rich (talk) 06:21, 23 August 2014 (UTC)

Please don't revert people on their own talk pages.[edit]

As I said, if you want to have this conversation you are welcome to host it on your own talk page. It's typically considered disruptive to revert the comments of people on their own talk page. I'm happy to discuss any issues with you, but I will repeat, stating that a particular talk page conversation or edit does not seem like it will be constructive should not be taken as a personal insult. That was not my intent. __ E L A Q U E A T E 17:28, 23 August 2014 (UTC)

I'll try to restate what we do with talk pages: Editors may revise and revert their own comments on talk pages. But we do not so so after another editor has replied to a comment, other than to strike out portions or make very basic corrections. Except when comments are clearly personal attacks, we do not change the comments of other editors. When someone removes a comment on their own talk page, it means they have read the comment. We do not go and restore such comments. Thanks. – S. Rich (talk) 18:49, 23 August 2014 (UTC)

Blocked[edit]

This IP has been blocked for a month as a Long term Abuse case due to a mixture of behavioral and CU evidence. If you feel that this was an error, contact the Unblock Ticket Request System or the Ban Appeals Subcommittee. --Guerillero | My Talk 01:51, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
