I have now filed for a name change.
{{unblock-spamun|ResearchinAsia|Having now read the notability criteria for inclusion, I have to agree with your assessment that we don't qualify, as we are not significantly published in secondary sources. That is to say there are no independant articles written about us, therefore I don't think we could really qualify as notable. At least not at this current moment in time. That having been said I still have a considerable amount of valuable knowledge to contribute in relation to clincal research in general. Therefore I trust the account can be unblocked, with the associated name change, providing I stick to matters which are not a conflict of interest}}

[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, APCTN, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it represents a company or group; your user account should represent only a single individual. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 23:47, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organization for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
- What can I do now?
You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

Decline reason:
This does seem rather fair, but there are two issues: One is that accounts are intended for individuals, not groups. The other is the policy regarding WP:Conflict of interest, which strongly discourages editing on subjects to which one has substantial personal connection. Would you be all right with at least a change of username so the account name does not reflect the group? I must also caution you that probably the majority of companies about which Wikipedia articles are submitted do not meet the notability criteria for inclusion. There is a very good chance yours would not as well, and thus that it is a moot point to desire to write about it. Check WP:CORP for guidelines on what qualifies an organization or business as notable. - Vianello (Talk) 04:48, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
