Explanations and welcome

Hi @ARealLeaf! Sorry for rolling back your very first edits. One of them was because of WP:OVERLINK (no need to link "election" in an article about an election - anyone reading it knows what an election is already). The others were "spelling corrections" of things that weren't actually misspelled - they just weren't in American English. WP:ENGVAR explains that one. The short version is: in most circumstances, resist the urge to change someone else's spelling/dialect into your own. If you have questions about those, you can reply to me here or my Talk page.
