Rollback[edit]

Hello A Softer Answer, I have granted rollback rights to your account. The reason for this is that, after a review of some of your contributions, I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended use of reverting vandalism: I do not believe you will abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck. Acalamari 00:41, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome for rollback: I looked at your edits and believed you needed it. :) You're also welcome for me suggesting you get the name change: after the name change, I also deleted the redirects to your new name so the troll wouldn't get redirected to you. :) I'm glad you're still around. You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 02:13, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, thank you. I'm honored. A Softer Answer (talk) 03:45, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Recent rollback without explanation[edit]

Please explain why you reverted all of my edits recently on Gary Anthony Williams. Clearly you can admit that there should be a different section than "Career" for where the man was born. I also added additional information with references that should have remained. I am not well-versed in the function of reverting all edits, except in cases of vandalism or inappropriate edits. Moreover I may be in need of proper etiquette when discussing this. I would appreciate your input on all of this.--SidP (talk) 16:50, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies, I did not mean to revert all of your edits. I was trying to revert the last two and all of them reverted. The information about Gary's marriage you added is out of date. So while the info about his wife was correct at the time it was published, it is no longer correct. Please feel free to update the article with professional information. A Softer Answer (talk) 18:17, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I would appreciate it if you would make the corrections that you are concerned about. Usually, judging the wording as untimely, it can be adjusted instead of removed, such as "they reside in ____" can become "they previously resided in ____". I find this also happens when the family is specified to live together, but after 20 years, it's likely the children do not all live with the parents. If you are unwilling or unable to make the specific changes, please let me know. I don't like the appearance of being in a revert-war.--SidP (talk) 17:13, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, my brain injury makes editing Wikipedia more difficult. But then again, my brain injury makes a lot of things that are much more important more difficult. A Softer Answer (talk) 17:25, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
