Darmo Art

[edit]

Darmo Art is an artist accelerator and contemporary art platform [1]. Co-founded in 2017 by Alexis de Bernede and Marius Jacob-Gismondi[2], two young savvy art enthusiasts and collectors living between London and Paris, Darmo Art started with an art blog aimed at promoting contemporary artists. Today, it has developed into a cutting-edge contemporary art platform and artist accelerator endorsing contemporary artists, and introducing young emerging artists to the art market through ephemeral exhibitions.

About Darmo Art

[edit]

The company strives to bring-value to the art market through different dimensions.

Co-Founders, Darmo Art

On the collectors' side, Darmo Art develops a new generation of young collectors, while promoting a new generation of cutting-edge artists to established collectors. As avid collectors and art enthusiasts Alexis de Bernede and Marius Jacob-Gismondi (the founders) wish to bring value to the contemporary art market, but also democratize the collecting of other style of art. In this line of thought, Darmo Art organized exhibitions in 2018 and 2019 in the Prestigious Galerie Gismondi in Paris. Galerie Gismondi specialises in furniture, objets d’art, paintings and decoration from the 17th to the 19th century. Located between the Église de la Madeleine and Place de la Concorde, Galerie Gismondi perpetuates the tradition of "curiosity merchants" where furniture and hard stone marquetry play a predominant role.

On the artists' side, Darmo Art defends the work of young talents. Often working with artists still in their studies, the firm selects the top talents of today. These artists have often not yet been introduced to the market, and Darmo Art initiates the contact between these young talents and their market of collectors and enthusiasts. They help them accelerate their emergence, gain exposure in the market and shape their career with a long-term vision. This process is both online and offline, allowing artists to get in touch with the largest audience. Advised by some of the most recognized experts in the market, the artists are assisted in the shaping of their career and set objectives to steadily develop in the long-run.

Darmo Art has two major functions:

The Gallery - highlighting works by up-and-coming artists, through pop-up exhibitions in some of the most prestigious locations around Europe.

Art Advisory - developing a trust-based, long-lasting relationship with clients, Darmo Art accompanies them in the creation and development of their art collection.

Through expertise and the use of a unique network of dealers/advisors/partners, Darmo Art strives to bring the most to, and align the interests of the gallery, the artists represented and all collectors and partners.
