Daarchlea,(pronounced dark-le-ya) is a Malaysian Blackened Death metal band from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, formed in early 2007. According to the band, the band’s name inspired from a flower’s name, dahlia. Young, brutally intense, unrelenting and outright savage are just a few ways the local metal community will describe the new offering of Daarchlea and their music. Full with dark and horror atmosphere in their songs, they are still trying to improvise their knowledge and gain more inspirations towards metal music, growing bigger day by days, in order to create the another side of dark metal music. While most bands struggle to evolve and stay vital within the extreme music genre, Daarchlea manages to do so effortlessly.

Band History

Daarchlea was the first band for each of it's member. In the first stage, Daarchlea only consist of Emme and Zizie. However, in pursuit to achieve their dreams of having their own band, they searched for members to complete the band's line up. This effort was quite complicated because it was hard to find someone who has the same interest of music that suits the band's taste and someone who can play the type of music that Daarchlea's delivering. Yet after a few months of searching,Daarchlea finally found it's member and had completed it's line up. One by one, each members with similar interests as Emme and Zizie had showed up. Aiem, followed by his good friend, Emiey joined Daarchlea. As the search continued, they found Ayie to take the position as the drummer. The line up almost completed except that there was one position left to be filled which was the vocalist. It wasn't easy to find someone talented and committed enough for this position. But with luck and persistence, they finally found, Firdz and pursue him to join Daarchlea as the lead singer, and as the official front man of the band. Together with Emme as the mastermind, lead guitarist and song writer for Daarchlea, this band finally consist of Firdz as vocalist, Zizie on Guitar, Aiem on Bass, Emiey on Keyboards, and Ayie on Drums. Emiey finally take a decision to leave the band on August 2009 and his position was replaced by Ash.

About the music

The band's sounds evolved from symphonic metal to a much cleaner and more 'produced' tunes of symphonic black metal, blackened death metal, and other extreme metal styles. Daarchlea's sound is more to metal, with it's fast and progressive guitar riffings, mixed with it's Symphonic and Melodic keyboards element, it's fast drum beating and deep growls combined with high pitch screeching on it's vocals while their lyrical and imagery themes are heavily influenced by the gothic literature, poetry, nature, love, death and horror. Although Daarchlea had been labeled as black metal/ melodic black metal/ symphonic black metal , Emme had mentioned that the band dislikes to be labeled. Daarchlea are heavily influenced by Blackened Death metal bands such as Behemoth, Vesania, Hypocrisy, Nile, Belphegor, Hate Eternal, Vader and Symphonic Black Metal bands such as Chthonic, Illnath, Hecate Enthroned, Cradle Of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Aneroxia Nervosa, Tvangeste, and Stormlord as their influences, hence as guidance and inspirations to create new and better materials. There are many people wondering and asking, what is the meaning of the band song title, is it in English, Deutch, French or something, and the answer is the song was written and sing in English, but the band had changed the spelling in order to maintain the uniqueness of the band and to make it easier for people to pronounced the words, example, “Beuthee”, it means “Beauty”, “Krai”, it means “Cry”.

Live Experiences

It was during February 2007, when the band first appeared at the Malaysian metal scene , when they first performed at the Pandan Music Festival Battle Of The Bands.The band then performed in other gigs throughout Malaysia and had shared the stage with few international bands such as First Blood (U.S), Caliban (Germany), Ruiner (United States), Nine Eleven (France), Goldkids (Italy), Ghost Town (Australia), More Than Life (U.K), featuring few regional great and legendary bands such as Siksakubur (Indonesia), As-Sahar (Singapore), Wormrot (Singapore), For Better Endings (Singapore). Friends of Mine (Indonesia), Sweet As Revenge (Indonesia), Straight Answer (Indonesia), Vermillion (Singapore), No Rest For the Weary (Singapore), and last but not least, local bands such as Sil-Khannaz, Mandatory, Symbiotic in Theory, Black Territory, Negation, Vociferation Eternity, Restraint, Massacre Conspiracy, Cassandra, Second Combat, This Sunday, Naratu, Incarnation, The Padangs, Catastrophe, Heterodox, Caladrius, Side Circle, Ana Four Craig, Thy Regiment, Samael Abraham, Elegy, Or The Golden Handshake, Kids on the Move and there is too much to be listed.

Live Promo 2009

Regarding to materials production, Daarchlea had recorded two songs (live recording) for their private collection and their guidance during July 2007 but had not release any of it to the public yet. In October 2008, they finished a recording session with The Band Shop studio, and had recorded four tracks including Dher Phoetus, Krai En Absolusyen, Seeping Dher Blod Fromm Herr and Beuthee Deseckresyen.

Daarchlea Live Promo 2008 had officially released by the band label records, Gegey Music on 2009.

Dher Phalse Mesaya

Daarchlea had officially released their brand new single on their Facebook page, entitled "Dher Phalse Mesaya" (The False Messiah) on February 2011. The track was recorded at The Bandshop Studio. The song was much extreme and fast compared to the previous release and the sound are much well produced better than before. Dher Phalse Mesaya lyric is all about the liar, the biggest deceiver which will come to spread the lies to humanity in future.
