Need some assistance with an inappropriate redirect
[edit]Greetings! I do a considerable amount of work on the psych pages, and there is a hard redirect, or hard link to the page James Brown is dead when you do a search on traumatic stress.
I wanted to create a page on Traumatic stress, to supplement the page on Post Traumatic Stess Disorder (they're different), but can't seem to to figure out how to get at the link/re-direct to disambiguate it. Help? --EmpacherPuppet 12:43, 24 August 2007 (UTC) aka Empacher
KoffeePhoto
[edit]I'm surprised to see the KoffeePhoto page being removed. I don't see why this page is more advertising than so many other product related pages. --Carlconrad 10:09, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Funny!
[edit]I like your comment on this page I tagged after it was already deleted once; ["Michael bizley" (Still not notable]. Have a good day! Phgao 15:21, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Contex of BiH Croats 1991
[edit]Well, I puted ethnic map of Bosnian Croats by settlements, in towns, municipalities, results of municipality elections and map of Croatian Community which was created later that year. Which context is neccesary? Ceha 0:29, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Very simple. Croatian percentage in Bosnian-Herzegovian municipalities 1953-1961 is historical change of Croats (articles shouldn't be stuffed with everything, but for this there should be a link on that page) and BiH Croats 1991 shows maps which were crucial to extablishment of Croatian republic of Herzeg Bosnia

- Thanks:)

Commons images on the main page
[edit]Hello! When placing a Commons image on the main page, please remember to first upload it to the English Wikipedia and tag it with the {{c-uploaded}} template. Otherwise, it will not be protected (so a vandal can replace it at the Commons and change what appears on our main page). Thanks! :-) —David Levy 21:14, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for notifying me! I had a nagging feeling that I was forgetting to do something, when I put the image on the Main Page, but I couldn't figure out what I was. Damn. I'll pay very close attention in the future, to make sure it doesn't happen again. I hope everything is fixed now. Again, thanks for notifying me. AecisBrievenbus 21:19, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- You're welcome! No harm done. :-) —David Levy 21:21, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- I protected the image at the Commons, so there's no need to take further action. —David Levy 21:24, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Does the image need to be uploaded to Wikipedia as well, or can it be restored on ITN as it is? AecisBrievenbus 21:26, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- The Commons protection is sufficient. —David Levy 21:28, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing what I failed to do. I'm sorry for the hassle. AecisBrievenbus 21:31, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- There's no problem at all! This sort of thing happens, and no vandalism occurred. —David Levy 21:33, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Correct sorting with DEFAULTSORT
[edit]Hi. There's a silliness in Wikipedia that's not very obvious; text with characters with diacritics don't sort correctly. Wikipedia actually sorts in "binary" order, using the numbers that code for each character, which means only "A-Z" and separately "a-z" sort correctly (but "A-Z and a-z" sort incorrectly, with "...XYZ" followed by "abc..."), and other characters ordering more or less randomly. To deal with that, we have to mangle the sort keys in in DEFAULTSORT and category statements, by removing diacritics and some punctuation and sometimes by uppercasing or lowercasing a character that is not that way in the correctly spelled name; see Wikipedia:Categorization of people#Ordering names in a category for more information. Fortunately, for most names the natural way is the correct way; names with diacritics are the biggest exception. Studerby 20:07, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Userbox
[edit]Hey, kun jij bij mij op m'n Userpage misschien de volgende userboxen neerzetten?
- This user believes in a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. (alleen dan does not believe)
- This user opposes monarchism. (alleen dan supports)
- This user supports the independence of West Papua (RWP). (alleen dan opposes)
- This user would like to know all existing languages.
Niet om je vexen ofzo, maar ik weet niet echt hoe ik dat zelf kan doen. Mallerd 16:57, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Cyprus dispute edit war(s)
[edit]Hey;
I know you're acting in good faith, but please do not bring the article(s) in front of the administrators everytime there is a couple reverts. It's always the same story - Once every three months jumps in an over-excited newbie that directly starts editing the most controversial article fiercely, after a couple hours of meaningless tug of war you ask for a full protection, and the article is locked for two weeks eventually making everything even more razzle-dazzle. Plus if you read my last post on the talk page, you'll see that somebody actually is willing to comprimise (meee meeeeee! :)
I think what we might rather need is a permanent semi-protection, which might prevent such stuff even before it happens.
I hope you don't get me wrong. I know you're doing it with good faith. Nevertheless it never helped before, and wouldn't also help this time. Let's just wait for a little more while, if it goes on like that, I myself will be the one asking for protection
Regards, wish you a pleasent wiki-surf, Kerem Özcan 23:36, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
