I can't create this page : https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Aiguilles_de_Bavella

On this talk page, the unblock bloc says why my account is blocked : "The IP address that you are currently using has been blocked because it is believed to be a web host provider. To prevent abuse, web hosts may be blocked from editing Wikipedia".

It says account blocked from 2015/10/08 to 2017/10/08 and then it mention the account 2001:41D0:0:0:0:0:0:0/32.

Then it says "you can contact admin ..." your actual ip is 2001:41d0:fe43:ae00:74b4:337b:53d7:9bcd and the block id is 6354418

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Caught by a web host block but this host or IP is not a web host. My IP is ... well my own IP, i don't use any proxy so i don't understand what is wrong. What can I do ?. Agrimpard (talk) 21:23, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

Decline reason:

From what the blocking administrator (who is also a CheckUser) has told me, together with what I have seen on the relevant web pages giving information relating to the company in question and the IP ranges it uses, it does seem that the blocked IP range is used for web hosting, and other ranges for non-hosting purposes. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

That IP range apparently belongs to a webhost. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 17:47, 28 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

My provider is OVH (https://www.ovhtelecom.fr/ who is also a webhost https://www.ovh.com/us/ yes. They do both. Does that means because of their other activity, i have to stay blocked here ? My OVH IP is static, i can't change it. Or maybe can I use a VPN to avoid the block ? Thanks Jeremy --Agrimpard (talk) 18:35, 28 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nope VPN doesn't work :) --Agrimpard (talk) 18:39, 28 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Weirdly, i could create the page today en:Aiguilles de Bavella but as soon as it was created, i could no longer edit it ... same block message. Can't add the "translated from" information in the talk page. All that is so weird ! --Agrimpard (talk) 19:30, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well, thanks JamesBWatson for the review, but i'm really not a webhost, i'm a simple OVH internet user from Ouistreham (France, Normandy) where there is really no datacenter. I'm sorry but your webhost ip range is wrong, i am a legit user ... how can i prove it ? thx --Agrimpard (talk) 20:45, 30 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Tested VPN again, it works ! --Agrimpard (talk) 20:10, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
