Adam Muhammad Jibril (Born September 19, 1959) is a Nigerian Professor of Arabic and the first Borno State indigine to become a professor of Arabic at the University of Maiduguri. He specialized in Arabic Morphology and Grammar and is currently exploring at the Faculty of Arts, Department of Arabic Studies, University of Maiduguri.

Adam Muhammad was born in Marte Local Government Area, of Borno State, North-Eastern Nigeria. He attended Annahda Islamic Institute, Maiduguri, where he obtained his first school leaving certificate in 1974 before he attended Higher Islamic Secondary School, Sokoto where he obtained the Higher Islamic Studies Certificate in 1978. He obtained a Diploma in Arabic from The State College of Arts and Science Sokoto, and a bachelor's degree in Arabic from Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto. After he completed his compulsory one year National Youth Service Corps in 1985. He later recieved a master's degree in Teaching Arabic to Non-Arabic Speakers from Khartoum International Institute for Arabic Language, Sudan in 1990 and a doctorate degree (Ph. D) in Arabic from Bayero University, Kano in 2000 and in 2019, he received a PGDE from Kashim Ibrahim College of Education an affiliate of the the University of Maiduguri.

Professor A. M Jibril began his academic career in as a class teacher, then a lecturer at his alma mater State College of Arts and Science Sokoto. In 1995, he was appointed junior lecturer at the University of Maiduguri. In 2001, he rose to the position of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies and in 2014, he became a full Professor of Arabic.
