Hi Alialm97, I have some comments on your article evaluation:

  • Good job noting the unsourced boosting of Michigan State. The intellectual history of communication studies is a surprisingly contentious topic.
  • If you spend much time in social science and humanities areas of Wikipedia (philosophy and history are exceptions) you'll find lots of room for improvement. :)
  • I also thought your observation of the serious tone on the talk page was interesting.

Great job on your article and interesting topic of choice!

Content: The content was neutral.

Sources: Reliable sources were linked to each claim.

Structure: I would recommend creating a "lead" in the article, which is a summary of the festival in 1-2 sentences. This would include your first sentence and possibly another. I would recommend creating a new heading after the first sentence and tilting it "History" to make the structure more clear. Also adding a photo would look nice.

Balance: The article was balance, but you could always add more to the News section.

Hey! Great work, interesting topic too! Lead section: You seem to have added a lot of information to the lead, which is very informative. I feel like what you have added to the original article helps me understand its importance, which is perfect.

Structure: Small point, I think the wording of one of your sections should be "Economic Growth" rather than "Economical Growth." But otherwise, the structure makes sense and works nicely.

Coverage: You could add more in terms of what the various perspectives of the festival are, if people have written about it and such, however I'm not sure if it is relevant to this particular topic or if that's something that would be easily available, since it might not be the kind of topic people have divisive opinions about. If not, then your coverage is good!

Content: Your tone is neutral, which is great; no opinions, just information.

Sources: Everything is sourced and your sources are reliable, good job! Overall, great job! You might want to add more to the News section, but again I think what you have added helps the original article a lot, it makes it clearer what the significance of this topic is. Feedback on article draft

[edit]

Hi @Alialm97:, great job so far on your article draft! You got some good feedback from the others and I recommend that you consider all of their advice. I have one question: what happened in 2006? Was the festival canceled altogether?

Another thing to do is to add your article to relevant categories. Finally, after you publish your article, you might add links to your article on other pages to help readers (and other editors) find it. I'm really excited to see this continue to develop! Hi @Groceryheist:! Under the News section, do you think it would fit if I added World Records that have taken place during the Festival? Other than that, the news section was only added because of the one line on Sheikh's death already existing on the Wikipedia page before I edited it. I'm thinking of maybe moving it to the History section? Any suggestions? I've tried finding other news incidents, but to no avail. It's mostly been like most cars given away or largest raffle winner and a few celebrity visits that weren't for performances.

Never mind! I've decided to add the records and notable events to the news section and went ahead and updated the page. Hopefully everything looks alright. Alialm97 (talk) 23:46, 9 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
