Titanic left southamton at 12am on april the 10th 1912. 4 days into the journy the lookouts frederick fleet and reginald lee spotted a large iceberg and Titanic was heading straight for it.at nearly 25 mph she managed to turn a little bit to the left but the 46,000 tone ship hit the iceberg a glancing glow. It was not a huge hole that started the titanic sinking but a serious of splits let enough water to get into the ship.Titanic was designed to survive the flooding of the two forward compartments but the iceberg opened the front 5 and titanic was doomed.
As she went down by the bow the nearly nine hundred foot long ship broke its back. The bigger front section went down first making the stearn of the ship completely verticle before tearing itself free and making the stern go down aswell.
