For Wikipedia-chem, -pharma, and -biochem articles, editors usually do not emphasize attribution to people and institutions. You can imagine that otherwise article-writing degenerates into battles about who did what and when and saluting the un-recognized heros... Also we encounter conflicts of interest (WP:COI) where those that shared in a piece of history are vying for recognition. It's just human nature.

So our general approach is to let the references do the talking about attributions. The result is less anxiety and much smoother prose for readers since we just focus on the technical material.
