Information icon Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to David Orlikow. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Romartus Imperator (talk) 20:48, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I only added a small reference to David Orlikow archives (i.e. original papers created or maintened by Orlikow). This is not original research or novel synthesis. This can be verified easily by looking at this database: http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/lac-bac/recherche/arch. I did not add a link to this as URL for specific item in this database are not permanent. LAC-BAC-POL (talk) 21:12, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Archives

[edit]

When you add an archive from Library and Archives Canada, please add it to the external links section in the way I did (example). With your current format, people cannot access it without checking the citation. One minor formatting note about Wikipedia, unlike academic works, the punctuation goes before the citation, not after. All the best, CentreLeftRight 20:54, 18 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your comments. I am following this guide: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:The_Wikipedia_Library/Cultural_Professionals . Section 8 says adding a link to collection in the external links section of an article should only happen if other options are exhausted. I am happy to follow your suggestions for articles on political parties, but other formats may work better in other circumstances.

ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:57, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
