Oh, those weird limitations. I should have known. Well, if no clever way of using {{navbox}} comes up, then it will probably be best to go back to your initial idea of splitting the shared code into a separate template subpage. Though frankly, that we have to go such lengths is probably an indication that the master template is too big itself. – Uanfala (talk) 18:04, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Uanfala: I concede to the last point. So will I continue to navbox the larger subgroups by their own, and later reduce the master navbox. In that way, no AN language will be left behind, and will appear at least in one navbox. –Austronesier (talk) 17:35, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
