Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Image:IMG 0884-cropped.jpg, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. For more information about Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, take a look at our Five Pillars. Happy editing! FreplySpang (talk) 16:37, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding Image:IMG 0884-cropped.jpg to articles. It is way too large, so it overwhelms an article instead of improving it. Most importantly, we cannot use copyrighted images. FreplySpang (talk) 16:44, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You do realize that images are copyrighted by default? Even if they don't say "Copyright (c) 2005" or whatever, they are covered by copyright. We can't use an image unless the holder of the copyright gives permission for it to be used freely. If this is an advertisement for Calvin Klein (as it appears to be) then his company is the copyright holder. There are more details of our copyright policies at Wikipedia:Copyright FAQ. Thanks for explaining more about where this image came from. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I thought you had scanned in a professional photograph and claimed it as your own. (We do have a lot of people who claim authorship of photos that aren't theirs.) I'll put the GFDL-self tag back that I took off the photo. If you get a chance, it would be useful if you could add a note to it explaining that it's a personal photo, where you took it, that sort of thing. I've deleted the image as you requested. Sorry it didn't work out; it certainly was a good-looking photo. If anything like this comes up in the future, the way to get a page or an image deleted is to put a tag on it: {{delete}} or {{deletebecause|''put reason here''}}. Only admins can delete things, and those tags signal for an admin to take care of it. Thanks for contributing the photo to Wikipedia, and for being patient through our misunderstanding.
