The Battlezone Wrestling Alliance (BWA, formerly the Backyard Wrestling Alliance) was created in October 2003 in Vacaville, CA. It started off as a backyard wrestling promotion, but quickly became just the opposite.

Such wrestlers in the BWA were X, Joe the Ref, Happy, Vortex (The Owner), Stoney, Steve Kanyon, Surge, and Paco. In February of 2004, BWA soon made it to Public Access television and was available to over 90,000 people in Vacaville. After the first few shows aired, BWA's website soon saw more and more hits each day, and before long, the BWA had a front page article in the Sunday paper!

Since then, wrestlers have come and gone in BWA, most of whom could've been huge stars. Such wrestlers included Simon Carter, Vagrant, and Tank. Simon Carter saw notable feuds with Nick Rage, Vortex, Stoney, and Seth Cage. Carter returned to the ring at King of the Backyard to go against Seth Cage, but Cage quickly took Carter out. Vagrant's feud was most widely known forkidnapping Surge in his truck, and speeding off. No one saw Surge for weeks following that taping. Tank was a big man who feuded with Stoney, and Surge, but an injury forced him to take time away. No one has heard from Tank since.

BWA has had over 6 Championships in its existince, but relinqueshed 4 of them due to the small roster they had. Such championships included the Cruiserweight, X, Tag Team, and World Heavyweight (This was not relinqueshed, but was rather changed to 'Universal')Championships. The most succesful person in capturing the X and Cruiserweight belts were Joe The Ref, who was the first person in BWA to win the debuting titles. The Tag Team titles saw the shortest existince in BWA history, as they only had 1 team to hold them before they were abandoned. The Universal Title has changed hands the most out of any title (obviously), with Surge being the person winning the belt the most (3 times).

Since its induction, BWA has seen a lot of new talent popping into the scene. Such stars include Seth Cage, KleanSlate, Rob Steele, and Jack Sledge. Cage has already won the BWA Universal Title at one of BWA's Special Events "Retribution". KleanSlate was lucky enough to pick up a win over Stoney with the assistance of Happy to become the General Manager of BWA. Rob Steele is a behemoth of a man, and destroys anything in his path, and is well on his way to becoming the next BWA Champion. Jack Sledge has appeared in a number of dark matches, and will be debuting very soon.

Most recently, some of BWA's stars made their way to the Indy circuit. Nick Rage currently wrestles for UWA, SPW, BRAWL, and NWA:PCW, all Nor-Cal promotions. Surge went Indy for a couple months before retiring from the Indy scene for the time being. Seth Cage managed Surge ans Nick Rage in UWA, under the name Brian Charisma, but also took a leave of absence. Vortex planned to go Indy as well, but decided against it.

BWA has been out of action for a while, due to bad weather, but will be returning March 25th, 2006 with their biggest show of the year, Annihilation.

BWA has made news all over Vacaville. From being on the front page of the Sunday Paper, to having a show at Will C. Wood High School, to being on local TV, to being interviewed by NBC out of San Jose. BWA will continue to make headlines untill it breaks out of Vacaville, and is well on its way to stardom.
