Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy. It also appears that your account is intended to be used for the purpose of telling the world about an organization or cause that you consider worthwhile. Unfortunately, many good causes are not sufficiently notable for their own Wikipedia article, and all users are discouraged from editing in any area where they have an inherent conflict of interest. You may wish to consider one of these alternative outlets.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer instead to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you prefer to change your username rather than create a new account, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. Request reason:

Black Women Playwrights' Group is a 501©3 service and advocacy group representing African-American female playwrights globally. Please see the sources listed from National Endowment of the Arts (NEA) and WomenArts about Black Women Playwrights' Group to gain a wider context of what the organization is and why it merits a Wikipedia page: http://www.nea.gov/about/NEARTS/storyNew.php?id=03_theater&issue=2012_v4 and http://www.womenarts.org/2012/04/20/black-women-playwrights-group-looks-to-the-future/ . Please send further instructions on the procedure to change my username so I may change it speedily once I am unblocked. Thank you for your concerns and I hope to hear a reply from you soon. Procedural decline; request does not propose a new username nor even address the issue. — Daniel Case (talk) 17:33, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Although the block notice mentions both of them, these are actually two separate issues. The notability of your organization is one, your username is the other. The block is solely because of your username. As indicated in the block notice you don't have to appeal that block unless you are concerned about retaining attribution for your previous edits. You can simply open a new account and resume editing.
Now to the other issue, the notability of that organization. Notability is often debatable, but I would not see a grant from the NEA as sufficient evidence of it, and the other problem with the article itself was that it was not written in the neutral tone expected of an encyclopedia, to such an extent that it was deemed to biased to simply fix it and it was deleted instead. If you can locate some independent, reliable sources that discuss the organization and attach those to any new versions of the article it would have a better chance of being retained if re-submitted. I will leave your unblock request open for another admin to review, but I would advise you that if you expect it to be accepted you need to indicate what new username you would like. Hope this helps. Hello Beeblebrox. Yes, there are two issues which we are trying to work through. I'll address the issue of notability first. I sent two articles.

They are both independent, reliable sources. The article featured on NEA Arts is not about receiving a grant. The article is about BWPG's innovative cyber narrative project for theater that has gained national attention. The second article in WomenArts, details the cyber narrative project and gives an organization overview that is further evidence that BWPG has standing within the theatre community. I am enclosing a third independent source from another nationally respected theater organization, Theater Communications Group. http://www.tcg.org/publications/at/issue/strategies.cfm?indexID=26. Please refer this email to another admin to review if you still do not understand what the organization is about and that it is indeed notable and worthy of an entry in Wikipedia. The second issue is the user name and achieving a neutral tone for the article. I will open a new account with the username Star Route 19,and edit the article so it has a neutral tone. However, I still look forward to hearing back from you about the suitability of the organization for a

Wikipedia page. BWPG (talk) 20:44, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Daniel Case (talk) 16:44, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Black Women Playwrights' Group

[edit]

Hello BWPG,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Black Women Playwrights' Group for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, EagerToddler39 (talk) 22:35, 8 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
