BCarmichael feedback

[edit]

Very appropriate article relevant to the course. Your contribution is written well, expanding on existing content and supported by appropriate scientific references. The Keeley reference, in particular, is a strong one because he is a prominent fire researcher. Improvements could be made in style. Be sure to follow style guidelines for edits, particularly for new headings – only the first word is capitalized. Also be sensitive that statements read as encyclopedic facts rather than arguments. The use of “however” can sometimes lead to this thought. Rather than deleting an entire section, you can add templates that notify editors of the need for citation or to reconsider placement. Aspects related to biodiversity could be expanded with examples for the different locations. How many different fire regimes are present in the US, Australia, globally? You state this clearly on the Talk page and I would have used the Talk page to attempt to determine a better place. The use of the Talk page was spot-on! GDoman1 feedback: 2014 Guerrero earthquake

[edit]

The article relates well to the your lecture and your contribution works very well. The Location section that you added provides a nice historical context of the area and its history with earthquakes. A citation is needed for the last sentence of the paragraph, "Since 1975, 23 earthquakes of magnitude 6.0 or greater have occurred within 200 kilometers of the same area as the April 2014 earthquake," since you mention facts that are not common knowledge. The Damages section that you added gives great detail about the earthquake's effects on society. I think there is a grammatical error in the sentence, "One person was injured when wall collapsed in the city of Lazaro Cardenas, Michoacan," and the sentence needs to be changed to "One person was injured when a wall collapsed in the city of Lazaro Cardenas, Michoacan." I would also add a citation at the end of the first paragraph of the section because so much information is mentioned. I think the hyperlinks you added work very well with the article. Nice job! Matthew Gordon feedback: Hidden Pines Fire

[edit]

The information you added relates well to the article and helps tie in concepts that we covered in our lecture on fires. I would suggest adding information on previous fires in the area that would allow the reader some background information on the fire regime in this area. Another thing that could be added is how the area is recovering, however I realize this may be difficult considering the fire occurred last year. Also, your first 2 sentences are choppy and could be combined to help the flow of the article. The final thing I noticed in your article was basic grammatical errors that could be fixed by reading over the information added. ````Matthew Gordon — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mgord23 (talkcontribs) 18:39, 29 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
