Please do! You'll get nothing but support from me, your website shows you have the right "wiki-values". Now that I've created the article and gotten it by the "gatekeepers", there's very little you can do to screw things up beyond all repair, so "be bold" (often repeated on Wikipedia)...except, don't add anything that directs people to you or promotes your services beyond what's already there, at least not without discussing it on the talk page (Talk:Lawnbott) first. Be aware that Wikipedia in general can be kind of a difficult place, which is why several of us have put together a little haven called Wikiproject Robotics (in wikipedia, go to WP:ROBO). (This is a common approach, there are 160 active WikiProjects in Science/Engineering/Technology.) I'm working on a sub-project right now that will be called WP:HOME, specifically for home and yard robotics.

And a lot of other things too, not all of them printable. I seem to be the main "champion" and "guard-dog" for robotics on Wikipedia (and also a couple of sister sites) these days, although I would really rather focus on home robotics. But in a sense, I was only the editor "on" the Lawnbott page, not "for" it...no one owns anything on Wikipedia (which causes quite a lot of gnashing of teeth).

Simpler English

Bamabots, I haven't got this posted at WP:HOME yet so I'll just let you know here...there are a lot of people whose native language is not English who nevertheless actually prefer en.wikipedia.org for technical subjects, especially robotics, and even more so home robotics, in the sense that there are lots of consumers, hobbyists and students attracted to home robotics. So, we're going to try to go easy on them. We don't quite want to go as far as Simple English, but simpler English would be appreciated. - Dan Dank55 (talk) 15:46, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll be more careful in my typing. I usually depend on Firefox to catch my typos, I guess I was using Brand X for the entries. Simpler English got it. Clever dog. One more thing: go slow. I know you could fill up several pages with relevant information in a day, but there's a very good chance that someone would delete it for WP:COI reasons if you did. We have a steady stream of people who add links to their websites, or edit or create articles mentioning something about the thing they sell...and the general rule is that, even when these people are the acknowledged experts and are writing absolutely factual information, this stuff is still deleted immediately and often without comment. Don't be afraid, but do go slow, and give people a chance to comment, to question, to dispute, to debate. I know your history of objectivity, but other people do not, and it would not surprise me in the slightest if someone says, simply, "Stop. Let someone else write about that.
