Harry H. Goodstein

[edit]

Hi Barbara, welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition that Harry H. Goode was originaly named Harry H. Goodstein must be sourced to keep it in the article. Do you have one? Your addition is removed till a reliable source can support it. If you need help how to add the reference, let me know. Kind Regards, SchreyP (messages) 06:49, 18 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Peter ( is it Peter?). I'm definitely a neophyte at this and having difficulty figuring out how to respond to your question. Harry Goode was indeed born Harry Goodstein. He was my father's uncle. Harry was the son of Joseph and Lena Goodstein. His brother was Sidney Goodstein and one of his two daughters, Erica Goode, writes for the New York Times. He changed his name to avoid the rampant anti-semitism of his early adult years. I'm not sure what sourcing you need but the census information available on ancestry.com should verify this.

How did you find his birthdate?

Let me know what additional information I can provide.

Thank you.

Hi Barbara, it is Patrik. I have been searching but could not find yet a source that can be used. Maybe you can contact Erica Goode. She must know what reliable sources are, and might be able to help in providing one on her father.
