Hi. I don't want to get into an edit war, so... could you please explain to me why you keep changing the table? I'm not saying yours is bad, but I think it's pointless to have a wikitable when the template serves the same purpose in less space and is also sortable.

Secondly, if you're arguing about appearances and goals, you should note that the template has a parameter to include league/cup/europe, but I did not use it intentionally, because listing excessive stats is against the policy on content (see WP:NOT#STATS). -- Luxic (talk) 17:22, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply. ;) That's exactly what I had in mind. In fact, I was planning to put another table with the stats starting from 0, when the season start. I draw inspiration from 2009–10 Manchester United F.C. season, beacuse I would like to have some decent prose in the article as the season progresses, rather that having only stats like in the Juventus and Inter articles. And I will also try to do the same for the past Milan seasons. Anyway, now I'll try to do some adjustments, so when you come back you can check. -- Luxic (talk) 18:20, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've just submitted the new edit. So you can figure out what I meant. As for the starting eleven, I think it's too trivia and it changes frequently during a season. -- Luxic (talk) 19:09, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! I was on holiday, so I've not been editing for the last 10 days. Now that I came back, I noticed there's someone who changed the article to the old format. By the way, I'll try to go on with my attempt of making the article look like the Machester one. -- Luxic (talk) 08:33, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Apps and goals

[edit]

Hi! Basically, the problem with listing appearances in that way is that it breaks the sortability of the table. Also, I don't think it's such a big issue... I mean, substitute appearances don't really tell much. For instance, suppose that player A is in the starting line-up but gets injured by the 5th minute and has to be replaced by player B. Player A will be listed with a starter appearance and player B with a substitute one, though it's the latter who played a bigger part in the game. Anyway, when Milan website updates this page, I'm going to put it as a reference, so that people might just click and see the actual minutes played if they are interested. Squad list

[edit]

Sorry to bother you again, but do you really think we need it? It seems completely redundant, as we already have the stats table with the same info... Luxic (talk) 21:22, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Serie A results

[edit]

Hi, Bazoc. I think I'll have to change it back. The reasons being that: 1) MOS:COLLAPSE states that collapsible table should not be used to hide article content; 2) according to this discussion, consesus is against including red and yellow cards in such match reports (anyway, a reader who is interested in such info can simply click on the external link); 3) using all those templates (instead of the previous WikiTable) makes the page a lot longer to load, especially for users with slow computers, which is against WP:ACCESSIBILITY. Hope you understand the concerns. Luxic (talk) 21:40, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The fact is that there's no clear manual of style for club season articles and this has led to the spread of several different formats. Most of them, anyway, are just a bunch of tables and templates which are basically an indiscriminate collection of stats. I mean, a lot of those articles don't have a single line of prose! What I'm aiming for, as I told you before, is to have an article similar to the Manchester United ones, which combine a good prose with only a few tables. After all, this is an encyclopedia, not an almanac. Luxic (talk) 22:25, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
