Speedy deletion nomination of James Dalrymple McIver

A tag has been placed on James Dalrymple McIver requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Status and Advice

As reviewing administrator, I think it's clear that Judge of a state supreme court, and, particularly member of a state legislature, is a claim to notability , so I did not delete the article. However, the article needs better sources. An unpublished family history is not sufficient--please see our guideline on sourcing . Additionally, I cannot figure out in what state he was legislator and judge . the article talks about Monroe county, but his activities seem to be in North Carolina, and there is no Monroe county in NC. There is however a Moore county, and Google Books seems to indicate that was the site of his activities. Could you please fix up the article. I advise you to do this very quickly, before the article gets nominated for deletion by a regular deletion process. DGG ( talk ) 22:37, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
