Bethune Theatredanse is an advertisement[edit]

The article Bethune Theatredanse has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. —C.Fred (talk) 22:21, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • The major problem is that the article did not read like a neutral encyclopedia article; it read like a promotional piece written by the company. (In fact, I searched the company's website to see if it was copyright-infringing, but it was not a direct copy.) The secondary problem is that nothing established the notability of the company. The general guideline is that a subject should have been covered in multiple reliable sources to be considered notable. These should also be national-level sources; write-ups in the local paper don't establish notability.
Additionally, you should look at the best practices guide for writing about subjects you have a relationship with. All editors should make sure to write in neutral tone and base their statements on independent sources, but this is especially true if an editor is writing about herself, a family member, or an employer. —C.Fred (talk) 00:37, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
