John Faunce Leavitt

Hello, I noticed that you reverted the article back to the changes you've made. As I explained, many people were only familiar with John F. Leavitt from the name of a well-received film about the schooner, which is why it was necessary to mention it. That said, the schooner itself was only a sidelight of the original piece, which instead focused on Leavitt the curator and artist. As I suggested on the talk page, I'd suggest creating a separate page on Mr. Ackerman, who crafted the schooner, rather than trying to blend all this information into a piece on John F. Leavitt. As you're a new wikipedian, I'd like to point out that the way this process is supposed to work is to discuss changes on the talk pages, and attempt to reach a consensus, rather than just arrive and begin wholesale rewriting and reverting. Additionally, in reading your contributions, I see they focus mostly on Ackerman, and that Leavitt himself is a sidelight to them. Again, I would suggest that you instead create a new wikipedia article on Ned Ackerman himself, where his accomplishments can be detailed in depth. Adding more to the John Faunce Leavitt page is now, as you initially suggested yourself, merely a distraction.
