Bill Wurtz!

[edit]

Hey fella!

Thanks for all the great work you've done so far for the bill wurtz page, all major areas of his work has been discussed and decently supported with references. I appreciate you acknowledged the musician infobox I added. It was important to add because bill identifies as a musician first and foremost, and treats his youtube presence as merely secondary; he often remarks 'i make videos for my website and upload them to youtube'. I did actually briefly consider *replacing* the youtube infobox with the musician infobox, but didn't in the end because that infobox is actually accurate and his youtube presence doesn't need to be completely buried! As for your question, it has been frequently inferred on his question page that he lives at Long Island, one example here https://billwurtz.com/questions/q.php?date=201606270121 - I think that's an alright reference? Looking forward to working with you on this page. I have a direction I'd like to take this page myself, like providing as reasonable emphasis on his actual musicianship. The table of his music videos and list of songs, assume you did that? That's pretty awesome, nice work. I'm actually interested in restructuring it however, to something a little bit more closer to how most musician discographies are detailed. I can understand what you did, you're making quite a lot of internet related notes regarding each of his songs (like recent number of views, what happened on youtube when it was uploaded, etc) but I think that stuff can be cut back - it'll save you some hassle in the long run too. Don't want to completely disregard his youtube presence either, just looking for a balance. Makes sense? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Derick1259 (talkcontribs) 17:52, 20 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bill Wurtz: Awesome work on 'reality' section

[edit]

Just wanna thank you for doing that, nicely detailed, it's starting to finally look like the right amount of attention is being given to the website now. Derick1259 (talk) 15:29, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

h3 interview citation style

[edit]

Yeah, you raise a valid point. I think there is a template which can annotate citations inline with timestamps Template:Rp. It can't utilise youtube direct link to the timepoint feature thingy, but it will declare the timestamp. Another solution is one I put together in my sandbox User:Derick1259/sandbox where there is a very detailed citation for each relevant timepoint with a transcription of what was said at that point, and each of these citations link to a more complete description of the interview overall. This latter solution might be overkill though, and could look pretty ugly when mixed with the prevailing citation style. I will salvage timestamps from the edit history and go for the first solution, and see if we're content with that. Otherwise, I have that other backup strategy. Alright, added the timestamp to two of the citations and they look really sound (my opinion). The timestamps for the rest need to be hunted down, because the rest seem to rely on where the beginning of some of the highlight videos were, which I don't think is accurate enough.Derick1259 (talk) 10:52, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

The Original Barnstar
It occurred to me that I never really expressed proper appreciation for your work on the Bill Wurtz article throughout this year! Most of the time I'm edit these kinds of articles all by myself, so I'm grateful to have had another editor that's been so cooperative. Thanks! Derick1259 (talk) 19:21, 4 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Limmy, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Twitch (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
