Regarding your recent edits to Portal:Current events, please take note of the point listed:

  • Stories added to the main portal page should be of international interest. Stories of only regional or topical interest belong in their appropriate sub-pages.

Richard Hammond's crash is not of international interest. Happy editing. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Borisjohns&action=edit Again, welcome!  – Chacor 12:38, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Top Gear may go out worldwide, but the progress of the victim itself is not of international interest. The crash may be, but how Hammond is doing is not international news. – Chacor 12:45, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
WP:NOT an indiscriminate collection of information; we are not a news source. Portal:Current events are only for current events of international interest; the condition of someone injured in a car crash doesn't fit the criteria. Try Wikinews. – Chacor 12:48, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
"Mate, this is a famous tv presenter who was seriously injured whilst filming for the worlds premier motoring show." - if that's your basis for inclusion then it violates NPOV. We're not here to collect information on some guy who was stupid enough to be travelling at 480 km/h progressed in hospital after crashing. – Chacor 12:55, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Personally, as a general rule of thumb - if there isn't an article detailing the story it isn't international enough. This is most certainly the case here. – Chacor 13:02, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
