Hi all, I am going to copy & paste the Bergmann glia section from the astrocytes Wikipedia Page so that we can edit it and add more information to it CJAmbrose (talk) 02:59, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dana's Peer Review

[edit]

The first and last section of the introduction are definitely appropriate for a lead. The second paragraph (the original text one) is more specific and might be more suited to a subheading.

It seems you only have two subsections right now, so I think a few more would be beneficial, in addition to fleshing out the sections you have currently. However, the order you currently have makes sense (gliosis and then role in disorders). Based on your notes, you seem to have enough information to fill out these subsections more and possibly add some more sections, perhaps on the morphology or the function of these cells?

You have a wide variety of good resources, but seem to have only pulled a sentence or two from each. Is there any more information on your topic in these resources that has not been added yet?

It’s definitely written neutrally - I don’t see any opinions or biased statements! Overall, you seem to have a lot of good information to keep adding. Have you looked at all the sources on the original article? Even though the original paragraph on Bergmann glia is written terribly (lol), the information might still be correct, as long as it can be traced back to one of the sources! Ezra"s Peer review

[edit]

I found the lead for section for the introduction of Bergmann glia to be short and easily understood. Possibility some more characteristics of it could be included, but for now it is best to stick with the basics of what it is, where it is located, what is it made out of/from, what does it do/affect + how do we know this. I am sure that a later time more sections and subsections will be added that address the basic form and make up of it.
I am assuming that the subsections present will be greatly expanded and include findings that provide the necessary background and details that contribute to the overall structure of the article. I also am assuming that facts/detail will have multiple citations from a reliable unbiased source to show that information is true and trustworthy. Nevertheless I reccomend expansion of the level of inputs compared to those that are currently present.
For the role in disorders section I would recommend using specific examples for the disorders that involve Bergmann glia, along with how it is interacting with the overall function.
Your notes seem to indicate that the background will be expanded beyond what you have written so far and what was on the original article. I applause the forthcoming expansion of background knowledge and do recommend that it is keep concise and well organized, through your current work indicates that this shall not be problematic.
Upon review any non-neutral phrasing or word has eluded me, nor a biased claim was made indicating that you were well adhereing to the rules of writing on this online encyclopedia. WH40kindogs (talk) 02:04, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
