Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Cbochicchio NASCAR. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Lesa France Kennedy, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 21:22, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, I note your recent edit summary. Please do not edit the article directly, but propose changes on the article's Talk page. Please read the conflict of interest guidance already posted above. Tacyarg (talk) 17:41, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
- (If you use the Request Edit tag as detailed above, your edit request is more likely to be seen and acted on.) Tacyarg (talk) 17:44, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks so much for the reply. I requested the changes on her talk page on 12/16, but upon seeing no changes were made today, I consulted the COI guidelines for PR people wanting to make changes on behalf of their client and thought I correctly interpreted it as saying I could make changes directly, so long as I disclosed the COI in a summary of edits note and the changes were factual and verifiable. Apologies if I did that wrong. At any rate, can you please confirm if the updates are accepted and will now be on her page moving forward? Thanks again. 199.48.203.2 (talk) 18:22, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
