Regarding Sheikh

[edit]

I have no idea whether the information you're trying to add is more correct than what's already there, or not. However, adding/modifying categories that don't exist and causing category red links is not a good thing. Nor is having a nearly identical paragraph repeated (out of place) below the original paragraph. If it's incorrect, edit the paragraph that's already there, rather than just adding a new conflicting one. The fact that both versions of the paragraph in question claim to be supported by the same source is a bit confusing, too, and needs to be clarified. -Bbik 22:02, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Bbik,
Excuse me i'm still confused on how to exactly use Wikipedia....I even don't know if by clicking on the 'edit' button of your message to me i would be replying to you.
The thing is that the current written paragraph was actually copied from MY paragraph that was written on March 22, 2007 (as you can check from the History, but before creating my account).
The information mentioned in both paragraphs is confusing i know, but the whole and main difference is by the families that both paragraphs are talking about. I beg you to take into consideration the paragraph written on march 22 or my latest one in June because it is I who mentioned the correct reference of the correct information (all references are arabic history books and not on the internet i'm afraid). I'm also the descendant of a very famous lebanese historian (Rev. Louis el Hachem) and you and I both agree that wikipedia should inform people and not misinform.
Thank you for your understanding.
Regards
Cfiras
For starters, yes it does reply to my message. It doesn't reply on my talk page, only yours, but that it perfectly ok -- some people prefer keeping conversations together on one page, others prefer going back and forth so that the messages will be seen sooner. And a couple quick pointers: indenting (with the colon, like I added to your comment) makes it easier to separate each person's comments, and to sign, if you use ~~~~, it adds a link and the date, as well.
As for the paragraphs, is there a way to work them together, or split the information into two, without repeating so much in the new paragraph? Or is the new paragraph an updated, more accurate version of the May paragraph? If it's an update, just replace the old paragraph with the new. I have no issue with the information given in either one (nor any knowledge of what's right or wrong on this topic), my issue is with both paragraphs being present at the same time, because they appear to contradict each other.
Does that help clarify anything? -Bbik 21:09, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Bbik, Thank you for your reply. The current (last written) posted paragraph (regarding lebanon) is the correct one and the one that i wish to publish. In case of any conflicting information in the future posted by smne else, i will do my best to send you (maybe scan or whatever you ask) references from arabic history books that i will have no problem to translate to you in case of need. Best regards.

If there's a disagreement about what information is correct, I would strongly suggest you discuss it at the article's talk page, rather than here. You will be able to get far more input, for one. Anyone who is watching the article will be aware that the discussion is taking place, as well. Otherwise, if you have the discussion entirely on user talk pages, frequent edits and major changes in the information will likely look more like vandalism to those users who aren't involved, than factual fixes.
Oh, and don't forget to sign your responses with the four tildes (~~~~) I mentioned before! It's a lot harder to follow who says what without signatures, and it's always better to have less confusion, rather than more. :) -Bbik 03:24, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Zujua. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Sheikh without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. The removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks, Zujua (talk) 05:53, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
