Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Sang Sinxay. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. GermanJoe (talk) 11:35, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I can't see how adding suggestions for further reading including a PhD dissertation from Chulalongkorn University (NOT FOR SALE, available at libraries only!) is inappropriate or how it can be used for advertising or promotion. Please re-instate my suggestions for firther reading. [[User:Chanthadi] Chanthadi 14:16, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Chantad, sinxay.com is a blatant sales site promoting a self-published non-expert book. As such it doesn't offer any additional reliable information about the topic (the authors describe themselves as enthusiast non-experts). A bibliographic "Further reading" list is not a directory for non-academic popular literature and other secondary publications without directly relevant reliable content. Dissertations and thesis are usually also not suitable as "Further reading" entries. Strictly speaking non-English literature is not completely prohibited, but such literature is not easily accessible for English-language readers and has often little practical value for en-Wiki's target audience. I hope these additional points clarify some of my concerns. But if you believe, that some of the remaining additions may provide useful reliable information directly about the topic itself, please suggest these additions at the article talkpage. Thank you for your consideration. GermanJoe (talk) 17:54, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
