Hi Chris - I reverted your change to the Melanie Florence page not because I believe it's false, but because it's not mentioned in the sources in the article. If you can provide a reliable source that reports her maiden name, I'd be happy to put it back. From your name I infer that you might have a personal relationship with the subject: you should review our WP:COI guidelines to be on the safe side. pburka (talk) 22:59, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

October 2022[edit]

Hello, I'm Turgan. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Kurtis Conner, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Turgan Talk 18:20, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Turgan. My name is Chris Reise, Kelly Reise (the person I added to your page on Kurtis Conner) is my sister, and Kurtis is her son. I have no proof of this only my word. His father is Kevin Conner but Kurtis has told me ADAMANTLY that he does NOT want his father's name mention as they have no connections with each other anymore. Hello Chris, So obviously there are a few issues and concerns here.
  1. For starters, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not social media or a personal website. Therefore everything written has to be reliably and independently sourced and verifiable, especially where information about a living person is involved. Also, as long as it is properly referenced and well written, anything can be added here, as long as it is not potentially libelous and does not violate the strict Wikipedia guidelines with regards to biographies of living persons.
  2. No one owns pages on Wikipedia. They can be created and edited by anyone. These first two points also mean the "subject" of the article does not have to consent to, or approve what is written.
  3. As you stated, you are a family member of Mr. Conner, therefore you have a conflict of interest with regards to this article. As a general rule, it is a good idea for family members and close associates of the "subject" of the article to avoid editing or adding to it. It is hard to stay neutral and unbiased if you are close to the person being written about. Of course none of these guidelines say you cannot make edits, but they will more than likely be removed. You can of course always make suggestions and comments on the talk page of the article, allowing other editors to verify and include the information in an unbiased manner should they see fit to do so.
I hope this helps. Cheers, Turgan Talk 18:26, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Boss of Bosses. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Turgan Talk 18:23, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can you add a section for the advantages each person has with what it does? Danath85 (talk) 19:25, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
