Scottish Cup article edits

[edit]

Thanks for making corrections to the my editing of the Scottish Cup page. I appreciate that most of the 36 non-league members are in fact full members, not merely associate members, and compounded the error by incorrectly referred to the Junior clubs as Associate members of the SFA, rather than merely registered members by virtue of belonging to the SJFA who are an Affiliated association. Whilst the Junior clubs are recognised by the SFA I tend to agree that it doesn't help the clarity of the article to try and explain their status within the context of the article. However, you are wrong to re-instate the assertion that the competion is correctly entitled the Scottish Football Association Challenge Cup and remove the reference to the new competition that replaces the Qualifying Cups. The Scottish Cup has never included the word "Challenge" in the title, and asserting that it does will only confuse people, particularly as there is now a completely different competion that is called this (in much the same way that Scottish League Cup and Scottish League Challenge Cup get confused). I purposely added the reference to the SFA's cup competion rules in order to make this distinction quite clear. I think it is important for the accuracy of the article that this point is corrected but would like to clarify the position with you before making any further changes.
